Notes Additional information (en): Feature description: A northwest-southeast trending continuous precipitous scarp, approximately 330km northeast of East Cape on the eastern margin of Hikurangi Plateau. History/Origin/Meaning: Named after the RV Rapuhia, a New Zealand research vessel (DSIR), 1986-1992.

Additional information (en): Adopted from NZGB Gazetteer. This is a NW-SE trending continuous precipitous feature, on the E margin of Hikurangi Plateau, approximately 330 km NE of the most E part of the North Island of New Zealand. Its general trend deepens towards the NW as it leads towards Hikurangi Trench. This feature is generally 1000 m high. The name first appeared on Oceanic Bathymetry Series (OBS) chart 'Lachlan' in 1995. Minimum depth (m): 3950. Maximum depth (m): 7350. Total relief (m): 3400. Dimension/size: 367 km long.
