The Advisory Committee on Undersea Features (ACUF), maintained by the US Board on Geographic Names (BGN), works on standardization policy for names of undersea features and recommends official standard names based on proposals submitted by relevant authorities. A total of 5029 unique undersea features and 10201 names in multiple languages available from the ACUF gazetteer are now integrated in Marine Regions.
You can access the new georeferenced ACUF undersea features by selecting the ‘US BGN Advisory Committee on Undersea Features (ACUF)’ source. The remaining ACUF features were already part of the Marine Regions gazetteer and can be accessed by choosing 'IHO-IOC GEBCO Gazetteer of Undersea Feature Names' and ‘SCAR composite gazetteer’ sources.
