Notes Additional information (en): Feature description: A small west-east orientated ridge approximately 35km north of Great Barrier Island (Aotea Island). History/Origin/Meaning: A ridge that creates a barrier for currents going in and out of Hauraki Gulf / Tikapa Moana.

Additional information (en): Adopted from NZGB Gazetteer. This feature is a small W-E orientated ridge, approximately 80 km offshore from the NE coast of the North Island of New Zealand. The name first appeared as Barrier Knoll on Coastal Bathymetry Series (CBS) chart 'Poor Knights' in 1995. Minimum depth (m): 160. Maximum depth (m): 230. Total relief (m): 70. Dimension/size: 6.8 km x 2.7 km.
