Notes Additional information (en): This feature has an almost conical shape. The single position is that of the shallowest summit. Minimum depth (m): 1536. Maximum depth (m): 5443. Total relief (m): 3907. Dimension/size: 55 km × 50 km.

GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Japanese survey vessel "Takuyo". Year of discovery: 2001. History: Named after Dr. Saburo Kishindo (1890-1959), a Japanese oceanographer. He made a significant contribution to Japan's hydrography in the field of oceanography. In 1935, he produced an echo-sounding correction table for the waters around Japan. In 1937, within the Hydrographic Department of Japan, he led studies which resulted in the large meander of the Kuroshio Current being recognized as a primary scientific theme by the oceanographic community. During the 1930's, he was in charge of a systematic hydrographic and oceanographic survey campaign, using multiple survey and reseach vessels, in the Western Pacific. As the then survey fleet was used for military operations, he proposed and was instrumental in the construction of a civilian hydrographic survey fleet, consisting of multiple 200 and 800 tonnage-class survey vessels.
