Notes Additional information (en): This feature has an elongated and meandered shape, and a steepness of 5 to 8°. It is the continuity on the seafloor of Japaratuba river on the continent. The canyon is known since the 1970's and has been mentioned in many scientific papers and publications. Ref. 1) Summerhayes et al (1976); 2) REMAC Project "Geomorphology of the Brazilian Continental Margin and adjacent oceanic areas", Junior et al (2017). Minimum depth (m): 50. Maximum depth (m): 4422. Total relief (m): 4372. Dimension/size: 290 km.
