Notes Additional information (en): This feature has an elongated and linear shape. It is interpreted as resulting from a rifting of the proto Kyushu-Palau Ridge. All undersea features around the Kyushu-Palau Ridge are named after stars and planets. The single position is that of the shallowest point. Minimum depth (m): 4110. Maximum depth (m): 4832. Total relief (m): 722. Dimension/size: 5 km × 15 km.

GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Japanese survey vessel "Takuyo". Year of discovery: 1996. History: Named from its geographical location, to the northeast of Kensakiboshi Seamount. "Kensakiboshi" is one of the Japanese dialect names that means the Big Dipper.
