Notes GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Malaysian cargo vessel "Hartamas". Year of discovery: 2013. History: Murut is the name of the third largest indigenous group in nearby Sabah, Malaysia, literally meaning "hill people". They inhabit the interior and southeastern parts of Sabah, specifically the districts of Keningau, Tenom, Nabawan and Beaufort along the Sapulut and Padas Rivers. The Murut people were the last of Sabah's ethnic groups to renounce headhunting.
