Notes GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: Japanese survey vessel "Takuyo". Year of discovery: 1997. History: Named after the Japanese author, poet, pioneering feminist, pacifist, and social reformer Akiko Yosano (1878-1942), during the late Meiji to early Showa periods of Japan. She was one of the most famous and controversial post-classical woman poets of Japan. Akiko is the first name as, at that time, it was common and popular for Japanese writers to be called by their first names. This feature is part of the Great Writers Seamount Province.    
GEBCO: associated meeting, proposer and year of proposal (en): Associated meeting: SCUFN-30. Proposer: Japanese Committee on Undersea Feature Names (JCUFN). History: 2017.    
Additional information (en): This feature has an irregular shape and a steepness of ~ 14 %. Most of the Japanese writers relevant to the Great Writers Seamount Province were active in late 1800's to early 1900's. Tekkan Seamount has been named after Akiko Yosano's husband, Mr. Tekkan Yosano. Minimum depth (m): 3881. Maximum depth (m): 5518. Total relief (m): 1637. Dimension: 25 km × 15 km
