GEBCO: discoverer and year of discovery (en): Discoverer: New Zealand research vessel "Endeavour". Year of discovery: 1967. History: Named from the nearby Campbell Island ("Motu Ihupuku" in Maori language), New Zealand. This dual name reflects that of the associated land feature, Campbell Island / Motu Ihupuku, which was made official in the New Zealand Ngai Tahu Claims Settlement Act 1998.    
Additional information (en): This feature is the roughly flat region around Campbell Island / Motu Ihupuku that ranges from c 100 m to c 200 m depth. The name first appeared on Oceanic Bathymetry Series (OBS) chart ¿Campbell¿ in 1967. Minimum depth (m): 130. Maximum depth (m): 200. Total relief (m): 70.
